This session will walk you through how to use the platform Zoom for your 4-H meetings and activities as a leader. We will cover logistics on scheduling, security features required for 4-H, and show you all the fun stuff you can do with youth ages 5 and up.

Our new system has been vexing to some, but we are doing our best to smooth out the wrinkles and make it work for US. Please bring your questions and be ready to learn the ins and outs of our new enrollment and event registration system. 4. Just Playin’ Becky Uta, Kenai 4-H District Leader A time for talk about using Zoom as together time and for team games. We will share game ideas and see if our peers have done something cute as well. *We will play these games during the Evening Fun session beginning at 8:30pm. |

8. The Exceptional Small Animal Showman - Knowledge
Beth Norman, Tanana 4-H District Leader While this presentation is aimed at small animal showmanship, the guidance provided is applicable to all showmanship classes regardless of species. This workshop will cover why things are important for every showman to know about their species and showmanship in general. More in-depth coverage will be made of cavies, rabbits, small poultry, and large poultry. 9. 4-H at Home Kits Kate Schaberg, Kodiak 4-H District In this session, the Kodiak 4-H Coordinator will walk. you through some of the at-home kits they have done in their district, and statewide. You will learn about planning, budgeting for, and facilitating an at-home kit on its own or in conjunction with a Zoom meeting. Examples include breads to share, sourdough starter, windowsill gardens, and more! |

10. Let’s Talk Horse Smarts
Marla Lowder, Tanana 4-H District Agent and Debbie Manring, American Youth Horse Council President, Ohio 4-H Volunteer Horse Smarts is a great resource you can use to enhance your club meetings and infuse them with knowledge through fun activities. There are six main segments with lots of information in chapters under each. There are suggested ways to teach and games and activities with each lesson. Come learn what is in this massive resource and how you can use it. This resource is a publication of the American Youth Horse Council and Debbie is the chair who oversees this book and keeps it updated. 11. The Exceptional Small Animal Showman - Handling Beth Norman, Tanana 4-H District Leader This workshop will be dedicated to safe, proper handling of your small animal for showmanship or regular day-to-day needs. It will cover posing, examining, and proper, safe carriage. Different, species-specific needs and requirements will be covered including cavies, rabbits, small poultry, and large poultry. 12. 4-H Needle Felt Shana Eager, Tanana 4-H District Leader In this workshop you will learn the basics of needle felting and about the wool you use for felting. Find out how to create a needle felt project kit with a little bit of wool, a needle, and a cookie cutter. RECORDING AVAILABLE HERE |

13. A Closer Look at Record Books
Patsy Perkins, Priscilla Rice, Tessa Miller, and Nancy Graff, Tanana 4-H District Leaders, and Marla Lowder, Tanana 4-H District Agent An overview of the newly revised guidelines for filling out record books will be presented in this workshop. Get answers to your questions about what makes a good record book and what you put where. Use a rubric to help 4-H members know what is expected. |

Feed is the Driving Force to Success Stephen Rice, Tanana 4-H District Leader There are options on how you feed your livestock animals. Each has benefits and pitfalls. Learn where you can find what nutrients your livestock needs, how to avoid malnutrition or health issues by missing key nutrients, and how to understand feed tags. |

Stephen Rice, Tanana 4-H District Leader There is more to the cost of feeding your livestock than the cost. Learn how to compare various feeding options on a financial basis to determine what is best for your operation. 17. Twisted Knots Barbara Zimmerman, Kodiak 4-H District Leader Soft pretzels are so good and fun and easy to make. Please become familiar with the recipe provided for this workshop and have the ingredients and equipment ready for this baking project to make a small batch of a couple soft pretzels. Enjoy! 18. 2021 Alaska State 4-H Youth in Governance Program Updates and Q&A
Darren Snyder, South East 4-H District Agent; Sharon Chakuchin, Bethel 4-H District Program Coordinator; Sam Santistevan, Bethel 4-H District Program Coordinator; Kellie Johnson, Bethel 4-H District Assistant Director; Priscilla Rice, YIG Co-Coordinator, Tanana 4-H District Leader; and Kaitlynne Rice, YIG Alumni Member, Tanana 4-H District Help YIG alumni, volunteers, staff and special guests dive into what has made the YIG program so great over the years and what we are doing (with your help!) to build YIG into an even more vibrate and meaningful program for Alaska's 4-H Youth! This workshop includes 1) a Call to Action for 4-Hrs to engage with Legislators, 2) a rollout of a new opportunity for Youth Making Change, 3) an introduction to exciting and fun opportunities that 2021 YIG participants will be able to do this year. |

These three presenters will share with you the new 4-H Ambassador Program that was recently created and will be launched this year with Ambassadors being trained and taking their seats October 1, 2021. |
