AK Experience Camp 2022 was AWESOME!!
AK Experience Camp was held August 1-5 at the Eagle River Methodist Camp in Juneau for youth ages 11-18.
Youth learned outdoor Alaskan skills, Tlingit cultural connections and traditional ecological knowledge, as they played, canoed, fished, foraged and more with experienced camp leaders plus local cultural and outdoor experts. Partner organizations Goldbelt Heritage Foundation, One People Canoe Society, CBJ Arboretum, Above and Beyond Alaska, Cycle Alaska and many volunteer experts contributed to this amazing camp offering.
We are extremely grateful to the Juneau Tlingit and Haida Community Council and the Douglas Indian Association for offering a generous number of tuition waivers for youth to participate in AKX 2022!

Volunteers and Supporters make AK Experience Camp a huge success!
We have been very lucky to have all our food and supplies taken out to camp by 2 wonderful volunteers, Cody Wilkie and Monica Hinson-Wilson. Every year they donate their time, help and gas to 4-H. Without amazing volunteers like this our camp wouldn't be the success it is!
Over the years, the AK Experience Camp has been supported by Coastal Helicopters (airlifting gear), the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (for hosting excellent activities), Tyler Rental (box truck usage), Cycle Alaska (bike usage), DIPAC (fish and expertise), the Jensen-Olson Arboretum (gardens and facilities), and all of our truly magnificent volunteers who help make our camp a huge success! Thank you! You are appreciated!
