Dancing Owls Learning Center is an Anchorage 4-H Partnership, housed next door to the University of Alaska Anchorage. It supports university students by providing a safe and respectful after-school program for their dependent children between the ages of 8 and 13. The program is designed for the transition time between the end of the children's school day and their evenings at home. At the Dancing Owls Learning Center, children will engage in self-directed 4-H projects and activities encompassing the "learn-by-doing" slogan. Though Dancing Owls is a separate organization from the First Congregational Church, they have generously provided a safe, convenient location for the program to take place.

Adult Volunteers are needed to help mentor kiddos and guide them in their project-based learning. Parents entrust our 4-H volunteers with our children for enrichment programs. Alaska 4-H and the University of Alaska Fairbanks require volunteers who work with youth to complete risk management training. It does take a bit of time, but it is well-worth it for our youth.
