YOUTH IN GOVERNANCE
Youth in Governance
Made possible, in part, by sponsorship of Northwest Farm Credit Services.
Youth in Governance offers 4-H teens from around the state the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the legislative process.
The selection process begins the first week in January with nominations from each district.
Each participant is responsible for paying a registration fee of $200, which covers most costs during the program. Participants will be responsible for their own transportation to and from Juneau, a couple of meals and spending money. Alaska 4-H provides ground transportation during the conference, lodging, meals and other programming expenses.
Youth in Governance program relies on four chaperones, preferably from districts that are sending teens. Interested chaperones may apply to the program coordinators, Marla Lowder and Priscilla Rice. Chaperones will be responsible for airfare and $200 registration fee.
